Well, Leodhais was the first to wish well of today, just like last year. I must admit it makes me strangely pleased.
I found more Scotch and Irish Cream on the desk. There was a note that there's something else hidden in my office for me as well, which I haven't yet found.
There was also an incredibly nice bottle of brandy, from someone separate (the notes were very different)
My First-in-Command was quite the gift-giver this year, as well. A surprising pleasure.
Professor Asao managed to make sure I'd find my way through this day without any trouble from the geostigma, which was quite the blessing.
There was also quite an enormous cake that arrived recently- it's delicious.
I had an anonymous shipment of fish for the large tank in my office (how they knew I needed it, I'm not certain), quite a few snacks for my beast guard, and a new squeaky toy for him (DiNa's isn't for Ela and Ela has eaten the last two.)
There's also quite a few audio books, an entire series of one of m favorite shows (a crime scene investigation type show), a new potted plant, a wind chime, a few sun catchers, multiple boxes of various ammo, more off-world coffee, a new set of alcohol glasses... some other things. Certainly quite a nice day.
But now it's time to get on some... less telling clothes and take up a certain offer for dinner and drinking. Hopefully there will be no attempts to drag me into karaoke this year. Current Mood: pleased

Elysium seems to have taken a liking to my coffee. I would not expect that it would favor such a thing nor be able to tolerate that level of caffeine... Ela is a strange creature indeed. The red is beginning to show better in his fur and his eyes are a blue that'd make a mako-infect jealous. Then again, he was found in the area of a reactor so it's certain he's been affected by the mako himself. This, perhaps, explains his ability to consume large amounts of my coffee and suffer the only side-effect of a standard caffeine rush which, of course, takes it's toll on my office furniture.
Tseng insists that wearing something over my afflicted eye may help alleviate the recent onslaught of headaches. I think perhaps I'll heed his advice and try it. Likewise, one of my secretaries seems to have left me some tea to help with the pains and aches. It's welcomed more than one can say.
I must demand current reports from my employees as it seems people still manage to keep me out of the loop of events. I may be but eighteen, but I am the President and quite capable of strategy. As it is, Tseng's been kind enough to lend me his translated copy of The Art of War, as he mentioned preferring to read it in the original text. I must inquire as to whether Heidegger is in possession of the book.
My, my. It seems I've got another meeting already. Current Mood: thoughtful Current Music: Kumiko Noma - Lilium

Dark Nation still isn't accounted for. This makes me upset. Likewise, Jenova is still missing. The public is beginning to get restless. I need more coffee and more Turks out on patrol. I may start using SOLDIERs and increase the amount of spare MPs at this rate. ((now for some lyrics that rather explain Ruru's power and fear mindset. Haha. Scary little 18-year-old)) ( Lyrics )

The teenager ran a hand through his hair after the broadcast cut off. He hoped he had managed to look a great deal better than he felt- it wouldn’t be right for one of the leaders to look so ailing during such an enormous public service announcement. As was his style, he had phrased his words to root a fear in the public’s conscious and gave ShinRa as the only solution. Rule through fear. That’s what he knew. They would support the corporation, for the wrath of the corporation was as frightening as that of any alien terror. Or so they thought. Of course he had told them the bare minimum of what the needed to know of Jenova and her children.
He stared at the cup of coffee that had been sitting for hours on his desk untouched with a bland eye, lacing his fingers together. There still wasn’t enough information on the current events for his tastes and it was making him restless. He sighed, running a hand over his face and resting his fingers against his lips, eyes shut in the attempt to block out the aching sickness, the headaches, and the electronics of the room that seemed far too loud. After a moment he paged his secretary.
”Hold all appointments and calls. I’m going to my quarters.”
He didn’t wait for a response before patting his thigh to summon Dark Nation and heading out into the hallway and towards the elevator. He hated the idea of taking every a few hours break, and he somehow knew this was going to likely be for the rest of the day. With any luck he'd be able to get to his suite before anyone was the wise and he wouldn't run into anyone on the way. Current Mood: apathetic Current Music: Beethoven - Sonata in C Opus 2 No. 3 ( Adagio )

Rufus has moved the coffee machine into his office. Anyone who argues this will likely be met with a shotgun.
He's very irritable at this moment, as he's trying to figure out the recent onslaught of... "geostigma", as he's heard a few people mention. Something that happens to be making his own arm itch and ache, though he doesn't know that's what his case is. It might also be the cause of a few headaches.
Large parts of the city have been taken by the illness. It's even started to spread to the upper plate. His SOLDIERs have been complaining of headaches, and after that episode where a great deal of ShinRa seemed to almost collapse from sudden pain...
Clone 16's death had been confirmed, there were reports of two Jenovas, although the location of both have been lost. The one that Leodhais' world claim had been lost for awhile. There were many things to factor in. Reports to be filed, announcements to be made, broadcasts to the public to set up. He couldn't remember the last time he left his office, other than to briefly get a few CDs out of his suite. For all he knew, he was still feeling distinctly left in the dark. So many ends and so very little meeting together, no matter how he worked on the situation.
It was more of a headache than the hundreds of origami chocobos and cats he had gotten from Reno as his means of turning in paperwork. More than the employees complaining about the rabid tentacle monster one of his secretaries kept. Even more than his employees coming in drunk and starting a ruckus.
He pours himself another cup of coffee, resting his forehead in his hand as he begins writing again. Current Mood: stressed Current Music: Vanessa Mae - Devil's Trill
